Friday Gap

Congress Avenue Bridge — Austin, TX. Friday evening. I was walking on the infamous Bat Bridge, trying to catch a good golden hour vantage, before the sun dropped. Pedestrians crowded the sidewalk, cars crawled across the lanes, and the whole bridge was buzzing the way it always does on a Friday. Then I caught him — a cyclist gliding down the opposite side, framed in a rare gap of empty road. For one frame, the bridge emptied out around him. Just a rider, the lane, and the last of the light.
